Directions from M62 East

Exit Jct. 26 and take the fourth exit A58 Halifax.

Follow the lane markings on the road carefully. The journey time after leaving the M62 is approximately 20 minutes depending upon traffic conditions. After Hipperholme the A58 enters Halifax. After the first set of traffic lights within Halifax at Stump Cross the A58 bends sharply to the left followed by a long straight uphill section with Shibden Park on the left. At the top of this straight section the road bends to the right just after going under a bridge and on the left is a view of the whole of the centre of Halifax.

Follow the main road, A58, over the dual carriageway flyover (Burdock Way) and at the end of the flyover is a very large, traffic light controlled roundabout.

Take the A58 (Burdock Way) as it bypasses Halifax town centre, but immediately take the slip road on the left to a set of traffic lights at the end of the slip road. Glancing to the right is a B&Q store and in front is a company called Emergent Crown. At the traffic lights turn left, this is Pellon Lane.

Take the next turn left, a carpet warehouse is on your right and the width of this road, Back Victoria Street, is only one car wide. A Pay and Display Car Park is on the right at the bottom of this narrow road. Take the next turn left on to St James Road and the next turn left into St James Street. The Salvation Army Citadel is on the right and the Healing Rooms are on the left.

Parking meters on the street currently cost 30p per hour with a maximum stay of 2 hours. The Pay and Display Car Park at the rear of the Healing Rooms is a longer stay Car Park but costs 40p per hour.

Directions from M62 West

Exit Jct. 24 and proceed three quarters of the way round the roundabout at the end of the slip road.

Follow signs A629 Halifax/Huddersfield.

A dual carriageway links the motorway to the road network.

At the end of this dual carriageway is a roundabout. Take the second exit into A629 Halifax.

This is a dual carriageway for a couple of miles.

There is a speed limit of 50mph and three active speed cameras on the long descent into the Elland area. Follow the A629 into the centre of Halifax.

The next major town on the A629 is Keighley.

Just before the centre of Halifax the headquarters of the Halifax Building Society are on the left (now HBOS). A few yards further on the A629 bears left at traffic lights next to the Victoria Theatre.

The next set of traffic lights is at Bull Green. Go straight forward and on the left is a multi-storey car park. Keep in the left hand lane of this dual carriageway section. The next set of traffic lights is at the bottom of Pellon Lane which is on the left and in front is Ebenezer Methodist Church. DO NOT turn left into Pellon Lane, but follow the road as it bends to the right. Ebenezer Methodist Church is on the left as the road bends to the right. Take the next immediate left into St James Road, Ebenezer Methodist Church is still on the left. St James Street is the 3rd turn on the left, the Salvation Army Citadel is on the right as the left turn is made into St James Street. The Healing Rooms are on the lefthand side.

Parking meters on the street currently cost 30p per hour with a maximum stay of 2 hours. The Pay and Display Car Park at the rear of the Healing Rooms is a longer stay Car Park but costs 40p per hour.
